About Us

Based out of the Fort Washington marina in Fort Washington, Maryland the Fort Washington Boating Association (FWBA) was founded September 21, 1996 as a non-profit organization. The FWBA also has members from other local area marinas located in Washington, DC, Maryland and Virginia and is a member in good standing with the Potomac River Yacht Clubs Association (PRYCA). The FWBA is dedicated to the pursuit of six principles.

  • To encourage and promote yachting (boating)
  • To encourage and promote boating safety and education
  • To develop a fraternal spirit among local boating enthusiasts
  • To provide suitable facilities for the recreation of its members
  • To provide a medium for the exchange of boating information
  • To assist in the development of adequate boat storage and dock facilities

The FWBA is a close knit, family oriented group of people from various backgrounds, age groups, and professions but the one thing we all have in common is our love for yachting and the camaraderie that comes along with it. Each year we have many outings both on the water and on land including raft ups, trips to other marinas along the Potomac River and off the Chesapeake Bay, dock parties, cookouts, holiday parties and impromptu get-togethers. We're much more than a yachting association at a marina. It is a way of life where people form lasting friendships and watch each others' children grow up. Join us for a few hugs, a lot of laughs and a treasure chest full of sacred boating memories.

Our online store is designed to provide you with a safe and secure environment to browse our product catalog. As a non-profit organization the proceeds from the sales of our products go towards funding FWBA events, restocking our products and funding our charitable endeavors such as our annual Toyz 4 Tots campaign.
